The Spirit as a deposit

 

Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 5:5

 

While awaiting the new body; that is the immortal body that had been promised of every child of God at the last day, the Lord has deposited  the Holy Spirit in you to guide you and fellowship with Him. 

You are yet to have the new body, because the human body is mortal and can’t commune with God. 2 Corinthians 5:4 ”For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.” Even if dwelling in the mortal body seems to keep you far away from God, the Holy spirit deposited by God in you will bring you closer to Him.

The significance of the Holy Spirit deposited in you is to bridge the gap between your mortal body and the spirit of God. Having had the Holy Spirit deposited in you, you can come boldly and fellowship with God the father.

 

Conclusion:

A natural man can not fellowship with God, that is the reason why He deposited His spirit in every child of God to commune with Him.
