Stop complaining! Give thanks rather

How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites. (Numbers 14:27)

I

t has been the habit of many to complain and grumble when things they expected is yet to happen in their lives. Some will even go to the extreme and abuse the name of God as if He never existed. We should be mindful of how we react and take matters with patience. Let us Hope that God is not slack in His promise.

Complaining and grumbling to God will not make Him hasty in His promise but will rather get Him angry. Instead, always give Him thanks for the things He had done and the things He is yet to do. The Israelite failed to give God thanks of how He took them away miraculously from the Land of Egypt. They complained against Him that He had taken them out of the Land of Egypt to suffer and starve them of Hunger in the wilderness. This act of ingratitude made God to extend the time they ought to use in the wilderness. Numbers 14:2, 33

Dear reader, I believe you have been blessed this morning. To every problem you have give thanks to God, and don’t complain. Complaining will not make Him hasty in His promises, but when you offer Him thanks He will answer you hastily and miraculously.

Prayer: Father, in any way I have wronged you by complaining and showing ingratitude, Lord show me mercy and give me the grace to always give you thanks in every situation.

Salt of the earth

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” Matthew 5:13

S

alt is commonly used as a sweetener in foods we cook. If it was missing in a meal, such meal will have no taste. Why has the Bible compared us to salt? The scripture says “Salt of the earth” which means we are the sweeteners of the earth. The word “earth” in this context generalizes every human on earth. In other words we are to give God-flavours to everyone who is yet to know Christ.

The sweetener of our salt-like nature here in earth is Jesus. This is the reason why the scripture says “if the salt loses its flavour, it is good for nothing” Let take for instance; you have been assigned to impact many men in a way that will bring them to Christ. If Christ is missing in your life, it will be impossible to impact them. Telling us that without Jesus, we are good for nothing, because He is our flavour that make us add value to men.

Dear reader, I am sure you are blessed this morning. Hold on to Jesus, He is the flavour men will crave for in you. You have Jesus so that you will impact many and draw them to the kingdom of God.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Make me a salt on this earth. Let my life add value and sweetness to the life of many in Jesus name.

Peace in Him through faith

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1)

O

ur hope in Christ makes us be at peace with God in all ramifications. We have a hope to fellowship with Him having the confidence that the grace in His blood had parted the barrier between God and man. We should be aware that this grace is associated with our faith in Jesus and not our righteousness.

There is assurance of Joy in the Lord even in the midst of our enemies; our hope in Christ has connected us with God to the extent that we can live peaceably with enemies without us being hurt or endangered.

Our faith in Christ makes our ways pleasing in the presence of God of which in a way make us live peaceably among our enemies.

Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Proverbs 16:7 “When a man's ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

This same faith in Christ gives us Joy and assurance that when faced by challenges, something great is coming and we will have peace that the challenges are transient and not for long.

Dear reader I trust you have been blessed this morning. Grow your hope in Christ today. In Him dwells peace. He is the portal to endless peace from God the father.

Prayer: Father, Let my faith grow so big in you so that I will have access to your endless peace in Jesus Name.

He chooses the foolish things to confound the wise

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.  NIV (1 Corinthians 1:27)

T

he ways of God had always been unpredictable by men. He has said it that His ways aren’t ours neither His thoughts are ours. Right from time He has always shown this trait to prove how unpredictable He is. How has His ways been different from ours? Many of us live life and judge the affairs of life by facts, philosophies and clear proves of how things go. Anything or fact that contradicts the natural fact of nature, we assumed such fact is lacking intellectual clarity. In other words, such fact is foolish. God is a spirit and He does operate in the spirit and not physical. If He were to work by physical facts, we would understand Him, but He rather works in the spirit to subject the natural things to supernatural by choosing lowly, foolish things to confuse the wise.

Let us go into the scriptures and see examples of where God used the lowly things to confound the wise; examples are (i) the parting of the red sea. “It would be unbelievable by a philosopher or an atheist that the red sea could part making pillars of water”. (ii) “the floating of the axe by sinking of a light wood.” According to the law of science, a light wood will never sink let alone to force a heavy metal to float (2 King 6:6) (iii) a piece of money from the mouth of a fish. Doesn’t this sound weird? There is no natural facts that can prove how a piece of money could come from a fish. (Matthew 17: 27) Our God has already put to test the first ATM even before technology and science came in. There are many more biblical examples were God confounded the wise by foolish things.

God is a spirit, and to understand His ways, you must be in the spirit. You can’t comprehend Him by philosophies, facts or science.

Dear reader, I am sure you are blessed this morning. Always be led by His spirit to comprehend His ways. His ways aren’t judged by earthly wisdom, facts and philosophies. His ways are understood when you are led by His spirit.

Prayer   “Father thank you for your word today. Lord help me not to rely on my wisdom in understanding your ways but rather let me be led by your spirit to know your ways and your thoughts for my life”.

A newness of life in Christ matters only!

“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature” Galatians 6:15

Y

ou may be obliged to fulfil some ethics as a religious right because you are a Christian. Never prioritize it more than a newness of life in the lord.

A part of some ethics doesn’t define one’s genuine newness in Christ. Take for instance, some certain believers during the days of the apostles were regarded as unbelievers not that they don’t believe in Christ but because they were yet to be circumcised. The Bible made it known to us that what really counts is one’s new life in Christ. Even if you are circumcised and you still live in the world, you are not born a new and eternal life is not guaranteed.

A new creature who is circumcised by heart is what counts and not some religious ethics that will not guaranty life eternal. Focus your priority to the newness of a life in Jesus and a total change in Him.

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning, what you should prioritize is your newness in Christ. Ethics shouldn’t be prioritized than your newness in the Lord.

Conclusion: A newness of life in Jesus is what guarantees you a life eternal in the lord. Religious ethics should not be above your relationship with the Lord.

Christ has given you an uncommon grace

“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:17

There is an uncommon grace in Jesus which cannot be in anyone. This uncommon grace in Jesus unites you and God together. Just because of the uncommon grace in Jesus, you can be called a child of God. In the days of Moses and the prophets, the Human never see God as one who can be so close to them, let alone to call them His sons. God oft convey information through His prophets. The era of people then lacked the uncommon grace to have a cordial relationship with God.  They don’t know God enough; neither do they know His personalities and attributes. However, through Jesus you and I will know the personalities and even the thoughts of God.

John 1:18 “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten son, which is in the bossom of the father, he hath declared him”

In John 1:18, John explained that no man has seen God but through Jesus, who has seen the Lord, is able to declare Him; His attributes, personalities and thoughts.

His uncommon grace has made it possible for you to have access to the Holiest. The Bible signifies the “Holiest” as the presence of God, an atmosphere in which God manifest His power and authority. In the days of the prophet, no man has access to enter into the “Holiest” except a High priest who is worthy to enter.

Hebrew 10:19 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.”

Dear reader I know you have been blessed this morning. It pays to know Jesus and it pays more to be aware of the uncommon grace in Jesus. If you are yet to know Him, do so today by surrendering all to Him. Know Him and be aware of your grace in Him.

Conclusion: There is an uncommon grace in Christ Jesus. It is through this grace your relationship with God the father can get stronger.

What God sees

“For many are called, but few are chosen” Matthew 22:14

H

ave you ever wondered why God qualify those that are not qualified to some certain positions in life, while those we think should be qualified aren’t qualified. This is because what God sees is different from what you and I see. The way He thinks differs from the way Human think.

When prophet Samuel was to anoint a King to rule over Israel, Jesse, the father of David brought His sons who looks strong and a kind of King like stature, Samuel rejected them all because they weren’t qualified to be a king over Israel. The Lord said unto Samuel that He sees the heart of a man, however, the human see the outward appearance.

1 Samuel 16: 7 “For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”

Another case study is Jephthah whom His siblings rejected from His family. He was called a bastard. But God sees a man of mighty valour in Him.

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning. Focus on what God sees and says about you.

Conclusion: Don’t look down on yourself. What people say or see about you doesn’t matter. It is what God sees that counts.

Overcome your ‘former you’

“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4

A

s a born a new person in Jesus, you have been buried with Jesus into death and resurrected with a new life in Him. The former you has been buried, and that former you isn’t you anymore because you are now a changed person in Christ.

The scripture alluded that ‘former you’ as the ‘old man’ walking in the path of death. The former you has no life of Christ within. That ‘former you’ has no power over sin and death.  All glory to Jesus who has given you and I that new life to live above sin and death.

Romans 6:6 “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin”

Should you live some part of your ‘former you’?

No! As child of God you need not to keep some trait of your ‘former you’ that you know is associated with the flesh. Paul once said the things He detests doing He finds Himself doing. That was some trait of His old man in Him. He strived to overcome this trait of the old man still manifesting in Him. Have you ever noticed some bad character you see in yourself that you used to exhibit before you got born again? Forsake all and pray that God helps you to overcome them.

Romans 6:1-2 “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”

Dear reader, I am sure you have been blessed by the word today. Strive to walk in the newness of Life you received from Jesus. Pray and overcome all traits of the ‘former you’ still manifesting in your life.

Conclusion: Christ has nailed and buried the old man in you on the cross. You have been raised with Him to have a new life. Strive to walk in the newness of life in Jesus by overcoming all traits of the old man in you.

Be diligent and not be hasty to prosperity!

“The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.” (Proverb 21:5)

G

od requires His Children to go through so many steps to achieving the prosperity they desired. Our God is not a magician but a miracle working God. If He needed you to take the right steps in other to get to that place you aspire for, it is expedient you don’t miss a step. If you missed a step on haste, it may not end up right. Take for instance a little child asked His father to give Him a car to drive, His father will turn His offer down just because His son is too young and is yet to take steps; driving school, driving licence and some other necessary steps to qualify Him to drive. God doesn’t support shortcuts to properity or haste to prosperity, He needs you to work and pray.

Diligence is a prerequisite to prosperity, your commitment to taking the right steps to prosperity is your diligence. The Bible says God will bless the “works of your hands”. The “works of your hands” is your diligence to prosperity. If you asked God for prosperity, what is the works of your hands? How diligent are you to your job or work?

Dear reader, I believe you have been blessed this morning by God’s word. Do not be hasty to properity but take the right steps by your diligence to your work.

Conclusion: Just as the Bible said, haste will get you nothing until you make diligence the right steps to achieving prosperity.

The Joy of a spiritual Father

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 1:4)

T

he Joy of a spiritual Father is to see His children walk in truth and put to practice all His teachings. A spiritual Father is likewise similar to an earthly parent who hopes to see His children grow.

John gave His testimony about His brethren; how He is happy to see them grow spiritually. If you have won a soul to the kingdom, you have more roles to play; to mentor and train them to the full stature of a mature Christian. Paul for instance, was focused to mentoring Timothy, Timothy grew and excelled greatly.

As a new convert in Christ, your role is to seek more knowledge from your spiritual father just as Timothy did with Paul; He craved for more knowledge and discipline. A new born in Christ also needs to crave for sincere milk of the word of God and exercise the word by faith.

1peter 2:2 “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby”

Dear reader, I trust you have been blessed this morning. As a spiritual father, train and guide your children to grow from a new born in Christ to a giant in Christ.

Conclusion: There is joy for you and even in Heaven when your spiritual children are following the right path of the gospel. Train and guide them to the full stature of a giant in Christ

God has do’s and don’ts

“Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgements, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.” Leviticus 25:18

O

ur God is a God of principles. He has dos and don’ts. Back in the old testaments God, He laid some principles for the Israelites to guide their affairs. As merciful as He is, He was dangerous to those who broke His commandments.

He said this in Leveticus 25:18 “and you shall dwell in the land in safety” This connotes a warning that If they will live peacefully they must keep all His commandments.

We are now in a generation, where many have taken the commandments of God as irrelevant, holding on to grace. Many have misconstrued grace as opportunity to do whatever they like not minding the dos and don’ts of God. The Bible in Jude 1:4 talked about this set of people.

Jude 1:4 “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungoldly men, turning the grace of Our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Dear reader, honor God in your ways, even as we are in the dispensation of grace, we are given grace to live above sin and not to do whatever we like. Follow and live according to the principles and teachings of the word of God.

Conclusion: God has dos and don’ts. He has given you principles, follow and keep His word.

Born of God to overcome the world

“For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.” 1John 5:4

F

or anyone that is born of God is born by the spirit of God. As long as you have received and believe in Christ Jesus you have been born into the family of God through Him.

John 1: 12-13 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

If you have received Jesus and you believe in His name you have been adopted to God’s family and born of God’s spirit. In 1john 5:4 the Bible emphasised on the victory of those that are born of God. The ending verse says “even our faith”, the scripture dug dipper and expond on the faith you have in Christ. There is an uncommon faith that is deposited in you when you are born by the spirit of God. By faith you will have the confidence to face and overcome battles because you have the trait of God in you.

Dear reader, give no room for fear, anxiety or depression over challenges or trials. Believe in Jesus that you have overcome the world because you are born of God.

Romans 8:15 says “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, where we cry, abba, Father.

The Bible in Romans 8:15 confirmed your adoption  by God’s spirit, which implies that anyone born of God is not scared to fight any battle and He has the confidence to overcome all challenges.

Conclusion: If you have surrendered your life to Jesus and you believe in His name you have overcome the world. In you dwells the spirit of God in whom no fear can be found.

Salvation is affirmed by your confession

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:10

Y

our most important part of your salvation is your confession that you have accepted and believe that Jesus is the Lord and that God raised Him up from death on the third day.

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”

We need to understand the difference between when one confess Jesus by forsaking His wrong ways and when one is remorseful of His wrong ways and which to change. If you are remorseful of your wrong ways and you wish to repent without your confession of Jesus as Lord, you cannot be saved from your sins and salvation is not guaranteed for you.

During the time of John the Baptist, He baptised people by calling them to repentance, but there was no assurance of salvation then because they never confessed Jesus as their Lord and saviour.

If you are ready to forsake your wrong ways, do not do it remorsefully without your confession. Salvation is not emotional but it is a confession from your mouth that you have surrendered all to Jesus and that He is your Saviour.

Conclusion: Your salvation is guaranteed by your confession from your mouth that Jesus is Lord over your soul.

The fear of the Lord gives long-life and peace

“The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.” Proverb 10: 27

T

he Bible has revealed to us that those that fear the Lord are wise. It is of importance to know why the Bible referred to them to wise men. To fear the Lord is not you timid at His presence but it is you honoring Him in any action you are about to take whether it is the consent of God or not. It is also the fear of God’s wrath if you indulged in wicked or sinful acts. You honoring Him will guide you to take good actions and detest sin.

To fear the Lord is for your own good and you will reap many benefits of fearing Him. Every child of God aspires to live very long. But you need to fear Him for God to grant you that long life you need.

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning, fear the Lord in all ways and you will reap long life in all ramifications.

Conclusion: The fear of the Lord births long life. Honour and fear Him in all ways for God to grant you that long life you need.

Are conscious of your stand in Christ?

“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” 1 Corinthians 10:12

A

re you conscious of your stand in the Lord? It is a question that one should always pose to Himself if He wants to know if He is in good stand with the Lord. Over time, when you surrendered your soul to Jesus and decided to please Him, It is expedient to check if that first love you have in Him is getting stronger or compromised.

There are so many factors that may make you backslide away from God’s grace if you are not spiritually sensitive to the changes in your spiritual life.  Some of these factors includes; lust of the world, obsession of money, lack of money, evil company etc. To backslide is not limited to you committing sins; it encompasses all unfaithfulness to the things of God. If you were a person that loves reading the Bible and you notice that you don’t have time to read and study the word like before, you have backslidden. It may be that you don’t pray or fast like before again.

Always examine your stand in the Lord and check your stand in Him. Instead of you to fall from the grace, try to be full of His grace than when you first knew Him. It is the joy of the Lord to see that you grow in the full stature of Christ Jesus.

Conclusion:   Be sensitive to the changes in your love for the things of God, if you notice a negative change in your spiritual life, try to put your life back to the spiritual figure of Christ Jesus.

Be strong and courageous!

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9

Y

ou may be discourage and weak when you feel you have tried all you could but to no avail it seems you are not getting result. Discouragement is forbidden by God for you. He has given us an assurance that He is with us always. He said it in Joshua 1:9 that He is with us always.

To everything you have tried doing and it seems you have failed, be strong and don’t be discouraged but rather keep trying as if it were God that is in charge of your efforts. God has never failed; He doesn’t and can never fail. Success is nearer to you when you are fully aware that God is right with you to make you stronger even when it looks as if you have failed.

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning, be strong and courageous, it is a command that you must follow and fulfill (Joshua 1:9). Don’t give room for a disappointed spirit instead have the spiritual awareness that God is with you.

Conclusion: Be strong and courageous! Failure is not the end for a child of God but success is rather the reward.

The God that breaks protocols

“Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.”        (2kings 7: 1)

O

ur God doesn’t follow human protocols or perceptions to make the impossible possible. Instead, He breaks Human protocols and barriers to set or do what we think it is impossible. Some changes can be impossible to achieve if judged by society capacity or by man intelligence.

God has been breaking barriers and He is still doing so till today. He set a big record of a great financial breakthrough in Israel. In those days, there was a great famine-like it had never happened before that a donkey’s head was sold for 80 shekels of Silver and people cooked their children to eat. 2 Kings 6: 24-29 God spoke through His prophet saying “by this time tomorrow, a measure of flour, two measures of barley will be sold for a shekel at the gate of Samaria” Though this prophecy came from God it may sound crazy to an atheist who may believe God doesn’t exist let alone to make such a huge financial turnaround. A shekel then in those days is somehow similar to 1-dollar. Take, for instance, a man of God says a bag of Flour or Rice will be sold for 1-dollar by tomorrow at this hour that is how God can change a person’s life or a Nation in less than 24 hrs.

However, what may prevent the good promise of a turnaround is unbelief. When the Prophet gave that prophecy that “by this time tomorrow, a measure of flour, two measures of barley will be sold for a shekel at the gate of Samaria” A man stood against this saying which prevented Him from being a partaker of that turnaround because He did not believe in God. 2kings 7: 1-2

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning. It is not late for God to change your situation; If He gave you a promise, either from His word or from His prophet believe in Him. He is the God that set records and make the uncertain to be certain.

Conclusion: God has been breaking limits and He can still do in your life if you can pray and believe in Him.

Who are you serving?

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. (John 10:27)

W

ho are you serving? A child of God is known by who He obeys always. Just as Christ used a sheep as an example that follows the Shepherd same as a true believer listens and follow God’s instruction always.

You cannot have two masters, it is either you adhere to one advice and ignore the other. When the devil tells you to do something and you fall for His trap you are serving the devil. In often times when the devil tempts one to sin there is always an instruction from Holy Spirit that warns one from doing such act. If one listens to the Holy Spirit and ignores the devil, such a one is serving the living God but if He succumbs to the devil, he is a slave to sin and the devil.

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed this morning. Don’t be a slave to the devises of the devil. Follow and listen to the instruction of God always.

Conclusion: You can’t serve God and the Devil together; you either serve God or the Devil. Only those that listen to the instructions of God are recognised by Him as His Children.

 Spiritual growth in Christ

‘’As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built upin Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2: 6-7

S

alvation is progressive and not static. The moment a person believes and accept Jesus as Lord, He/She should be prepared to put more works on their salvation to have a strong foundation in the Lord. Spiritual growth is of great importance in the life of a Christian because it can tell how far one can stay firm in Christ even in times of uncertainties.

The Bible in Col 2:6 says “continue to live in Him rooted and built up” continue as used here implies to be progressive and rooted in this context signifies a strong foundation in Christ. While built up is your commitment to the growth of your faith in Christ Jesus. The Bible expounded on it in Phillippians 2:12  ‘’ Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Dear reader I am sure you are blessed today. Know that your salvation is not static but it is something that needs to be worked upon.

Conclusion: You need to keep working out your salvation in Christ Jesus.Through that your faith can be grown and there is no end to a spiritual growth in Christ, You need to keep meditating on the word of God and following His paths.

Know the Lord well!

And when they shall say unto you, seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? For the living to the dead? Isaiah 8:19

S

ome Christians have not gotten to the peak to know or have a strong intimacy with the Lord. They would hurriedly inquire help or consult a spiritualist, prophets or a seer if they had a strong challenge. Isaiah 8:19 While some do inquire of their fate of how their future will be. The Bible ascribes all these consultations as dead and not living. Isaiah 8:20

If you are in the dark you don’t go to a place that looks darker, consulting a spiritualist or a seer shouldn’t be the  step you need to take as a Christian. That is the reason why you need to build a strong intimacy with the Lord in other to hear from Him. God is light and He is the only one that can shed light to any darkness in a situation. In a situation you received your first instruction from a pastor or a prophet, try to test if their advice aligns with the spirit of God. In Isaiah 8:20 the Bible affirms this.

Dear reader, I know you are blessed this morning, Have a strong intimacy with God; He is the only one that can shed light to your problem. When you receive an advice from a pastor or prophet on a problem, try to test if such advice has the light of God within.

Conclusion: Have a strong Intimacy with God today. He is the only light to all problems.

Just Obey Him

“And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.” (Genesis 22:18)

O

ne way to show that you are a faithful child of God is your willingness to obey Him. There are blessings for a faithful child of God who obeys God always. It is a principle for many believers who soar so high just because they obeyed God even when things were not easy.

One who obeys the Lord is wise and one who despises His instruction, the Bible alluded to a fool. Proverb 1:7. Obeying God will make Him fulfil the promises He made with you. Let take for example Abraham, the Lord promised Him that His seed will be as many as the stars in the sky. He had faith in the Lord’s word and He obeyed all of God instructions. Because of this, God vowed to bring to pass the promises He made with Him. Genesis 26: 4-5 “And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of Heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandements, my statuses, and my laws.”

Dear reader, I hope you have been blessed this morning. Just obey everything God tells you to do, He is omniscient and knows every steps you need to take.

Conclusion: Obey the Lord in all ways, He will reward you greatly.

Acknowledge God in your plans

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverb 3:6)

W

e make decisions every day, set plans for so many activities we are intending to get involved in. Have you ever given it a thought to commit that plan to God? Irrespective of the plans you are setting; be it a wedding plan, Ceremony, business plan, planning for a vacation and the like. All plans need the consent of God first. Let’s take for example, God is trying to warn you of traveling to a specific place due to an impeding danger, but you are so engrossed in your travel plan that you never gave it a thought to pray about the travel. How will God have spoken to you?

Always prioritize God’s consent in every plan you are setting. Solomon in Proverb 3:6 said if someone prioritizes God in their plans, He will direct all their ways.

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning, make it part of you to always acknowledge God in your plans. He will ease your struggles and direct your path in any step you are about to take.

Conclusion: In anything you are aspiring to do, acknowledge God, He will make your ways plain.

When your faith, trust and patience are tried

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. (1Peter 1:7)

Y

ou may have been experiencing trials of faith, patience and trust in the Lord. It could be that most anticipated job you are applying for, the promotion that you are trusting God for or that miracle that you have received the promise yet you have not gotten it. All these happen as a result of the trial of your faith, trust and patience in the Lord.

In 1Peter 1:7, the Bible ascribed the trial of a Believer’s faith to a precious glory that is better than gold that is purified by fire. Though the precious glory is not visible yet, it is however for an appointed time for it to manifest. When your faith is tried and you fail not, you will have a testimony and the Lord that allowed your patience, faith and trust to be tried will reward you exceedingly.

Abraham, whom we the Christians regard as the father of faith, was tried at a point that He could have given up on the promises of God. He received the promise that His wife will bear Him a son at His old age of which He may have given up if He had not received the promise. His patience was tried yet He failed not just because He trusted God’s promises in His Life. As a result of this, God brought His promises into fulfilment in His Life.

Dear reader, count it all joy when your faith is tried because something Big is coming your way. That most anticipated Job, that vision, the fruit of the womb, the promotion will all be given if you walk with God through faith, just believe in Him. The Lord is not slack with His promise.

Conclusion: Do not worry anymore over the trials of your faith, trust and patience. All happens as to purify you just as gold is purified when passed through fire. Something Big is coming to you. Wait on Him, don’t get tired.

 Our God is Sovereign

The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Psalms 24:1

Our God is Sovereign. He created the universe and has the dominion over everything here on earth and in Heaven. David in Psalm 24:1 said this; “The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” which implies that the Lord has dominion over the affairs of Men and the world.

Our hope and confidence should depend on God’s sovereignty over the world. And through Him we can achieve anything in this world.

Another exciting hope about our God’s sovereignty over the world and affairs of men is that you and I will have access to the wealth and richness here on earth.

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed this morning. let psalm 24:1 be our hope that through the Lord’s sovereignty over the world you are entitled to wealth.

Conclusion:

Our God is sovereign. He oversees the affairs of the world. With his sovereignty, we are entitled to dominating the world and also have the access to wealth.
