Salvation is affirmed by your confession

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:10

Y

our most important part of your salvation is your confession that you have accepted and believe that Jesus is the Lord and that God raised Him up from death on the third day.

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”

We need to understand the difference between when one confess Jesus by forsaking His wrong ways and when one is remorseful of His wrong ways and which to change. If you are remorseful of your wrong ways and you wish to repent without your confession of Jesus as Lord, you cannot be saved from your sins and salvation is not guaranteed for you.

During the time of John the Baptist, He baptised people by calling them to repentance, but there was no assurance of salvation then because they never confessed Jesus as their Lord and saviour.

If you are ready to forsake your wrong ways, do not do it remorsefully without your confession. Salvation is not emotional but it is a confession from your mouth that you have surrendered all to Jesus and that He is your Saviour.

Conclusion: Your salvation is guaranteed by your confession from your mouth that Jesus is Lord over your soul.

The fear of the Lord gives long-life and peace

“The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.” Proverb 10: 27

T

he Bible has revealed to us that those that fear the Lord are wise. It is of importance to know why the Bible referred to them to wise men. To fear the Lord is not you timid at His presence but it is you honoring Him in any action you are about to take whether it is the consent of God or not. It is also the fear of God’s wrath if you indulged in wicked or sinful acts. You honoring Him will guide you to take good actions and detest sin.

To fear the Lord is for your own good and you will reap many benefits of fearing Him. Every child of God aspires to live very long. But you need to fear Him for God to grant you that long life you need.

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning, fear the Lord in all ways and you will reap long life in all ramifications.

Conclusion: The fear of the Lord births long life. Honour and fear Him in all ways for God to grant you that long life you need.

Are conscious of your stand in Christ?

“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” 1 Corinthians 10:12

A

re you conscious of your stand in the Lord? It is a question that one should always pose to Himself if He wants to know if He is in good stand with the Lord. Over time, when you surrendered your soul to Jesus and decided to please Him, It is expedient to check if that first love you have in Him is getting stronger or compromised.

There are so many factors that may make you backslide away from God’s grace if you are not spiritually sensitive to the changes in your spiritual life.  Some of these factors includes; lust of the world, obsession of money, lack of money, evil company etc. To backslide is not limited to you committing sins; it encompasses all unfaithfulness to the things of God. If you were a person that loves reading the Bible and you notice that you don’t have time to read and study the word like before, you have backslidden. It may be that you don’t pray or fast like before again.

Always examine your stand in the Lord and check your stand in Him. Instead of you to fall from the grace, try to be full of His grace than when you first knew Him. It is the joy of the Lord to see that you grow in the full stature of Christ Jesus.

Conclusion:   Be sensitive to the changes in your love for the things of God, if you notice a negative change in your spiritual life, try to put your life back to the spiritual figure of Christ Jesus.

Be strong and courageous!

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9

Y

ou may be discourage and weak when you feel you have tried all you could but to no avail it seems you are not getting result. Discouragement is forbidden by God for you. He has given us an assurance that He is with us always. He said it in Joshua 1:9 that He is with us always.

To everything you have tried doing and it seems you have failed, be strong and don’t be discouraged but rather keep trying as if it were God that is in charge of your efforts. God has never failed; He doesn’t and can never fail. Success is nearer to you when you are fully aware that God is right with you to make you stronger even when it looks as if you have failed.

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning, be strong and courageous, it is a command that you must follow and fulfill (Joshua 1:9). Don’t give room for a disappointed spirit instead have the spiritual awareness that God is with you.

Conclusion: Be strong and courageous! Failure is not the end for a child of God but success is rather the reward.

The God that breaks protocols

“Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.”        (2kings 7: 1)

O

ur God doesn’t follow human protocols or perceptions to make the impossible possible. Instead, He breaks Human protocols and barriers to set or do what we think it is impossible. Some changes can be impossible to achieve if judged by society capacity or by man intelligence.

God has been breaking barriers and He is still doing so till today. He set a big record of a great financial breakthrough in Israel. In those days, there was a great famine-like it had never happened before that a donkey’s head was sold for 80 shekels of Silver and people cooked their children to eat. 2 Kings 6: 24-29 God spoke through His prophet saying “by this time tomorrow, a measure of flour, two measures of barley will be sold for a shekel at the gate of Samaria” Though this prophecy came from God it may sound crazy to an atheist who may believe God doesn’t exist let alone to make such a huge financial turnaround. A shekel then in those days is somehow similar to 1-dollar. Take, for instance, a man of God says a bag of Flour or Rice will be sold for 1-dollar by tomorrow at this hour that is how God can change a person’s life or a Nation in less than 24 hrs.

However, what may prevent the good promise of a turnaround is unbelief. When the Prophet gave that prophecy that “by this time tomorrow, a measure of flour, two measures of barley will be sold for a shekel at the gate of Samaria” A man stood against this saying which prevented Him from being a partaker of that turnaround because He did not believe in God. 2kings 7: 1-2

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning. It is not late for God to change your situation; If He gave you a promise, either from His word or from His prophet believe in Him. He is the God that set records and make the uncertain to be certain.

Conclusion: God has been breaking limits and He can still do in your life if you can pray and believe in Him.

Who are you serving?

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. (John 10:27)

W

ho are you serving? A child of God is known by who He obeys always. Just as Christ used a sheep as an example that follows the Shepherd same as a true believer listens and follow God’s instruction always.

You cannot have two masters, it is either you adhere to one advice and ignore the other. When the devil tells you to do something and you fall for His trap you are serving the devil. In often times when the devil tempts one to sin there is always an instruction from Holy Spirit that warns one from doing such act. If one listens to the Holy Spirit and ignores the devil, such a one is serving the living God but if He succumbs to the devil, he is a slave to sin and the devil.

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed this morning. Don’t be a slave to the devises of the devil. Follow and listen to the instruction of God always.

Conclusion: You can’t serve God and the Devil together; you either serve God or the Devil. Only those that listen to the instructions of God are recognised by Him as His Children.

 Spiritual growth in Christ

‘’As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built upin Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2: 6-7

S

alvation is progressive and not static. The moment a person believes and accept Jesus as Lord, He/She should be prepared to put more works on their salvation to have a strong foundation in the Lord. Spiritual growth is of great importance in the life of a Christian because it can tell how far one can stay firm in Christ even in times of uncertainties.

The Bible in Col 2:6 says “continue to live in Him rooted and built up” continue as used here implies to be progressive and rooted in this context signifies a strong foundation in Christ. While built up is your commitment to the growth of your faith in Christ Jesus. The Bible expounded on it in Phillippians 2:12  ‘’ Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Dear reader I am sure you are blessed today. Know that your salvation is not static but it is something that needs to be worked upon.

Conclusion: You need to keep working out your salvation in Christ Jesus.Through that your faith can be grown and there is no end to a spiritual growth in Christ, You need to keep meditating on the word of God and following His paths.

Know the Lord well!

And when they shall say unto you, seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? For the living to the dead? Isaiah 8:19

S

ome Christians have not gotten to the peak to know or have a strong intimacy with the Lord. They would hurriedly inquire help or consult a spiritualist, prophets or a seer if they had a strong challenge. Isaiah 8:19 While some do inquire of their fate of how their future will be. The Bible ascribes all these consultations as dead and not living. Isaiah 8:20

If you are in the dark you don’t go to a place that looks darker, consulting a spiritualist or a seer shouldn’t be the  step you need to take as a Christian. That is the reason why you need to build a strong intimacy with the Lord in other to hear from Him. God is light and He is the only one that can shed light to any darkness in a situation. In a situation you received your first instruction from a pastor or a prophet, try to test if their advice aligns with the spirit of God. In Isaiah 8:20 the Bible affirms this.

Dear reader, I know you are blessed this morning, Have a strong intimacy with God; He is the only one that can shed light to your problem. When you receive an advice from a pastor or prophet on a problem, try to test if such advice has the light of God within.

Conclusion: Have a strong Intimacy with God today. He is the only light to all problems.

Just Obey Him

“And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.” (Genesis 22:18)

O

ne way to show that you are a faithful child of God is your willingness to obey Him. There are blessings for a faithful child of God who obeys God always. It is a principle for many believers who soar so high just because they obeyed God even when things were not easy.

One who obeys the Lord is wise and one who despises His instruction, the Bible alluded to a fool. Proverb 1:7. Obeying God will make Him fulfil the promises He made with you. Let take for example Abraham, the Lord promised Him that His seed will be as many as the stars in the sky. He had faith in the Lord’s word and He obeyed all of God instructions. Because of this, God vowed to bring to pass the promises He made with Him. Genesis 26: 4-5 “And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of Heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandements, my statuses, and my laws.”

Dear reader, I hope you have been blessed this morning. Just obey everything God tells you to do, He is omniscient and knows every steps you need to take.

Conclusion: Obey the Lord in all ways, He will reward you greatly.

Acknowledge God in your plans

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverb 3:6)

W

e make decisions every day, set plans for so many activities we are intending to get involved in. Have you ever given it a thought to commit that plan to God? Irrespective of the plans you are setting; be it a wedding plan, Ceremony, business plan, planning for a vacation and the like. All plans need the consent of God first. Let’s take for example, God is trying to warn you of traveling to a specific place due to an impeding danger, but you are so engrossed in your travel plan that you never gave it a thought to pray about the travel. How will God have spoken to you?

Always prioritize God’s consent in every plan you are setting. Solomon in Proverb 3:6 said if someone prioritizes God in their plans, He will direct all their ways.

Dear reader, I trust you are blessed this morning, make it part of you to always acknowledge God in your plans. He will ease your struggles and direct your path in any step you are about to take.

Conclusion: In anything you are aspiring to do, acknowledge God, He will make your ways plain.

When your faith, trust and patience are tried

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. (1Peter 1:7)

Y

ou may have been experiencing trials of faith, patience and trust in the Lord. It could be that most anticipated job you are applying for, the promotion that you are trusting God for or that miracle that you have received the promise yet you have not gotten it. All these happen as a result of the trial of your faith, trust and patience in the Lord.

In 1Peter 1:7, the Bible ascribed the trial of a Believer’s faith to a precious glory that is better than gold that is purified by fire. Though the precious glory is not visible yet, it is however for an appointed time for it to manifest. When your faith is tried and you fail not, you will have a testimony and the Lord that allowed your patience, faith and trust to be tried will reward you exceedingly.

Abraham, whom we the Christians regard as the father of faith, was tried at a point that He could have given up on the promises of God. He received the promise that His wife will bear Him a son at His old age of which He may have given up if He had not received the promise. His patience was tried yet He failed not just because He trusted God’s promises in His Life. As a result of this, God brought His promises into fulfilment in His Life.

Dear reader, count it all joy when your faith is tried because something Big is coming your way. That most anticipated Job, that vision, the fruit of the womb, the promotion will all be given if you walk with God through faith, just believe in Him. The Lord is not slack with His promise.

Conclusion: Do not worry anymore over the trials of your faith, trust and patience. All happens as to purify you just as gold is purified when passed through fire. Something Big is coming to you. Wait on Him, don’t get tired.

 Our God is Sovereign

The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Psalms 24:1

Our God is Sovereign. He created the universe and has the dominion over everything here on earth and in Heaven. David in Psalm 24:1 said this; “The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” which implies that the Lord has dominion over the affairs of Men and the world.

Our hope and confidence should depend on God’s sovereignty over the world. And through Him we can achieve anything in this world.

Another exciting hope about our God’s sovereignty over the world and affairs of men is that you and I will have access to the wealth and richness here on earth.

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed this morning. let psalm 24:1 be our hope that through the Lord’s sovereignty over the world you are entitled to wealth.

Conclusion:

Our God is sovereign. He oversees the affairs of the world. With his sovereignty, we are entitled to dominating the world and also have the access to wealth.

 Be committed to your gift!

A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

Proverbs 18:16

If you are deeply committed to your gift you will soar high and stand before great men. It is scriptural. proverbs 18:16. One thing that God will notice first before His grace make you stand out is your commitment. Proverbs 22:29 says Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”

Your deep commitment to any field you find yourself in will open the door to financial prosperity. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 28:12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.” The works of thine hand in this verse allude to your skills, gifts, or talents. This verse also tells us that our way to greatness is by harnessing the gift God has deposited in us. A man can  never be rich or great in life if He did not use the God given gift in His life.

That God given gift, if honed well, will make you discover your purpose and to achieve your destiny.

Dear reader I believe you are bless today. Be commited in that God given gift you have. It is the only way God will make you to soar high and be celebrated among great men.

Conclusion:

Be committed to your gifts. Make use of it well. You will soar high and be celebrated among great people.

Forgiveness and Salvation are free in Christ

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)

There is a penalty for every sin committed. To set a person from this penalty such a one must offer an atonement or appeasement to let go of the punishment. In Leviticus 4, 5 & 6, The lord imposed some Laws on the Israelites. These laws govern the atonement and sacrifices to different sins anyone may be involved in. There was a sin offering, the guilt offering, the burnt offering, the grain offering, etc. No sin committed was free to be atoned for. Every sin committed required a sacrifice to pay for. In those days forgiveness of sins was not free, let alone salvation which will give you total freedom from Sin.

The death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary is the fulfillment of the law.

The crucification of Jesus is the sin offering of whosoever is willing to believe and confess that He is Lord.

If you were to pay for the sins you have committed by sin offering, how many animals would you have sacrificed? But God in His amazing grace sacrificed His son for you to be saved and have all your sins forgiven without paying anything.

Dear reader, I am glad you read all through and I know you are blessed. There is no sin that can not be forgiven by Christ. Confess your sins to Him, He will forgive you and redeem you back to Him.

Conclusion:

Forgiveness and salvation are free in Christ. You will not pay any sin offering to be forgiven, instead, all you have to do is to confess Jesus as your Lord and surrender all to Him.

That pain is for a while..

weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (Psalms 30:5)

That pain or sorrow is for a while. It may seem far but joy is nearer. Jesus knew His elects will encounter pains at some phases of life. He gave us a guarantee that He has overcome the world. John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

This hope is only certain if you are in Christ. If you are yet to surrender your life to Jesus it will be impossible for you to get joy amidst sorrow and pains.

Dear reader, I am sure you are blessed this morning. That pain is for a while, the lord will give you that joy you need. If you are not in Christ, surrender your soul to Him, He will bear your burden.

Conclusion:

No pain or sorrow in a believer is everlasting. There is hope for every believer that they will experience joy.

Are you proud to confess Jesus before others?

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10:32

If you claimed to be a true child of God, you must be proud to confess that Jesus is your Lord. Some people who claimed to be a child of God are still ashamed to share or tell others that Jesus is their lord. In Matthew 10:33 Jesus said if anyone disowned Him before others He would likewise disown such a person. Matthew 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, he will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”

So many martyrs faced these serious trials that if they could disown Jesus they will be free from death. if at the point of death anyone disowns Jesus, such a one will be disowned by Him.

There is a great honor for you if you confessed Jesus as your lord among everyone. Christ said in Matthew 10:32 that if you confessed Him among others He will honor you at the presence of God almighty. It is not until you meet God in Heaven even here on earth you will be honored. He will also confess and honor you among the angels. Luke 12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God.”

No honor is as great as being honored before God and His Angels. If you could confess Jesus before others and you are not ashamed to tell people that He is your Lord, you will be honored by Him.

Dear reader, I know you blessed today. Don’t be ashamed of Jesus among men. He is your lord and savior. It is a terrible thing to deny Jesus before people.

Conclusion:

Be proud to confess Jesus before Men. He will honor you before God and His angels, but if you denied Him he will likewise deny you.

 What should your desire be?

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalms 27:4

Whenever you require anything, your first action is to seek the Lord first. King David knew the benefits of seeking the Lord first; that is making Him his priority. He did have other things He ought to focus on but He believed if He desireto seek the Lord, all His needs will be granted. He said in Psalm 27:4 “ One thing he ever needed was to seek and dwell in the presence of the lord” He never made mention of His actual needs like materialistic things,  wealth, fame, or power. He hopes that if He dwells in God’s presence, everything will be achieved.

Your first desire is to seek and dwell in the presence of God, other needs will be met by His grace and presence in your life.

Conclusion:

Your first desire is to seek the Lord and dwell in His presence. Making Him your first-priority just as king David did. It will make you get any other needs you ever needed.

Wisdom, knowledge and understanding; all are birthed from God’s Spirit.

And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship. Exodus 31:3

There are so many kinds of wisdom, but there is one wisdom that is superior to all other wisdom and that wisdom is only given through God’s spirit. In 1Corinthians 2:10, Paul dug deeper into the mystery of God’s wisdom. He said that no one can harness the mystery of God’s given wisdom except such a one is freely given by the spirit of God. He made an illustration that since our human spirit can search the deeper things of our mind that same as the spirit of God can search the deeper things in God’s mind. Therefore we can have access through the wisdom of God if we have the spirit of God in us.

Our case study for today’s devotional is Bezaleel in the Bible whom God bestowed wisdom, knowledge, and understanding through His Spirit. Exodus 31:2-4 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass.”

In those days, when the Israelites wandered through the wilderness, none of them knew craftsmanship in silver, gold, and some other precious stones. God needed to fill someone with His Spirit so He may have the inspiration from God to harness God’s wisdom.

Dear reader, I am glad you read all through and I am sure you are blessed today. Crave for the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of God. Pray and ask God to fill you with His spirit so that you can have access to God’s divine wisdom.

Conclusion:

No wisdom comes from above expect if God had bestowed it through His spirit. All divine inspirations comes through the spirit of God.

 Assurance of Good Health

And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. (Exodus 23:25)

Every believer is entitled to God’s given Divine and good health. A few believers are only entitled to good health. When you have good health it will be convenient for you to serve the Lord well.

There is no reason or cause for you to suffer from any sickness because Christ had paid the pains by His blood. Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed.

He died for you to have a perfect Health. You, however, have a crucial role to play to enjoy the endless benefits of good health. That role is your sincere service to God; Serving God in truth and in spirit, keeping his word and doing His will. Exodus 15:26, Exodus 23:25. If you can fulfill His will and love Him wholeheartedly, there is no sickness that will come your way.

Conclusion:

There is an assurance of God’s good health for you. Christ has paid for all pains and suffering. Serve the lord wholeheartedly to experience God’s given divine health.

 God has the final say

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. Proverbs 16:1

You are a product of choice. You have decisions about a particular thing you are about to do. Have you ever asked yourself if the decision you are about to take is in line with God’s plan? God created every human as a product of decisions. You are free to decide for yourself. In some cases your plans and your answers to a particular decision are different from God’s final say.

If you are having a plan, seek the consent of God first and let His Spirit direct you to His will on your plan; if it is the will of God for you to go for that plan or not. His final say on your plan is the best.

Dear reader, I’m sure you are blessed today by the word. Seek the consent of God first on your plans, He will direct you well

Conclusion:

God has the final say to every plan. Seek His consent first, He will direct you rightly.

 Salvation for all

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

Salvation by Christ Jesus is for every human on earth. There is no discrimination whatsoever for anyone to be saved. The Bible never mentioned a special set of people that salvation is guaranteed for. John 3:16 says; whoever believes in Jesus is saved and will have eternal life. That is if a traditionalist, atheist, unbeliever, terrorist, etc. believe in Jesus they will be saved.

When preaching the gospel, do not exclude some set of people to hear the word but let everyone you meet hear the gospel from you, because salvation was paid by Jesus for everyone.

Conclusion:

Salvation is for everyone. There is no discrimination to who must receive the gospel or to who must be saved. Jesus died for the world and everyone here on earth must receive the good news of salvation.
