Faith in the blood of Jesus guarantees righteousness.

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:25

The Scripture has oft-criticized self-righteousness. It alluded our righteousness to a filthy rag.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

You can not be declared righteous by God on your works if you lack faith.

You have to have faith in the blood of Jesus before you can be seen by God as one who is holy.

Abraham was declared righteous not because of his works or how He does the services of God but was declared righteous because of His Faith in God.

We are in the era of the New Testament. Christ brought the New Testament of which redeemed the world through His blood that whosoever believes in Him should be saved from His sins, John 3:16. The word ‘believe’ still connotes faith in Christ. That is; it takes faith for a sinner to be saved just by believing in Christ. If a sinner or an unbeliever doesn’t have faith in the gospel preached to Him, He will not be saved.

As a believer you need to acknowledge and have faith in the blood; that it is through the blood you can be holy to fellowship with God and not by your works, consecration, the time you study the word, services at church, and the like.

The Bible says your faith in His blood is righteousness, which means that when you have faith in His blood and you have acknowledged it to make you Holy, Christ's righteousness has been declared as your righteousness.

Romans 3:25 “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.”

Dear reader, I am glad you are blessed today. It is only the blood of Jesus that can make you righteous. Even if you are saved, believe in the blood as the only thing God will see in you before you can commune with Him and not your works or spiritual life.

Prayer. Lord, Jesus help me acknowledge and have faith in your blood, don’t let me see my righteousness as what makes me righteous.

Let your salvation advance the gospel

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel. Philippians 1:12

It is the duty of anyone who has been saved to be part of the kingdom's advancement. That is He/She will bring people that are yet to be saved to the light of the gospel. There are so many ways you can advance the gospel in a way that will beckon people to the light of the gospel.

Having received Jesus and saved by Him, you have a hidden light in you which is Christ. It is the will of God for you to expose that light in other to bring men who are lost in darkness to the light which Christ has brought to the world.

John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Jesus is the light in you that you need to shine to men by advancing the gospel to people who are yet to experience that light.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Dear reader, I believe you are blessed this morning. You must let your salvation advance the gospel. Tell people about Jesus, let them partake in the grace you are enjoying. By doing that you are bringing them out of darkness to the light whom Jesus is willing to give anyone who believes in Him.

Prayer: Father I thank you for your word this morning. Lord Jesus let my life draw many to the kingdom.

Your newness in Christ is what counts

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. Galatians 6:15

Your religious ethics, your services at the Church are not acceptable if your life is not sanctified. That is having a consecrated life of which shows that you are genuinely born new through Christ Jesus.

While addressing the Church at Galatia Paul emphasized them having a new life in Christ even when they have been circumcised.

Some certain people who have been circumcised among them considered themselves righteous but still don’t have a sanctified life in Christ. The Bible termed this sanctification as the circumcision of the heart. Romans 2:29.

Every Christian may have some distinctive doctrines. It is very important to distinguish your newness in Christ and your doctrine.

Your activeness in the Church may be good, but is your life sanctified? Your newness in Christ is what counts.

Dear reader, I am glad that you are blessed this morning. Have a consecrated life with God. Make Him your priority today if you’re yet to do so.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me build a consecrated life in you.

THURSDAY 21st JANUARY

 Crucify the flesh

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:24

The most powerful adversary of the human spirit is the “flesh”. The Bible has emphasized severally on the flesh. Biblically, the flesh connotes the Human weakness, comfort zones, vulnerability to sin etc. In a summary, the flesh is contrary to the Human Spirit.

The Bible also tells us about the consistent disagreement between the Spirit and the flesh.

Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

There are so many practical examples to show how the flesh had been contrary to our spirit. Take for instance; You are led by the spirit to spend time with your Bible and at that very hour you’re so tired and you feel like taking a little rest. You may think it is normal, but it’s however not. It is your flesh that wants to govern your spirit. The flesh will always want to control the spirit.

A born again Christian has been given the grace to kill the flesh. You can live above the flesh if you’re willing to be led by the spirit of God.

Christ has given you the power to rule over your flesh, but He can’t take decisions for you. You are to decide who to follow; the flesh or the spirit. So many Christians have the grace to rule over the flesh but they prefer the flesh comfort and signals.  You must be observing this signals; your time with the word, fasting life, prayer and your faith. If you noticed a slack, be aware that the flesh is already governing you.

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed today. Don’t give the flesh the room to rule over you. Submit yourself to the spirit of God today.

Prayer: Father, give me the grace to rule over the flesh. Let me be led by your spirit in Jesus' name.

God will not compromise His standards for you

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Numbers 23:19

Our God is a God of integrity; whatever He promises to do, shall He do.   In Numbers 23:19, the scripture described God with an exceptional attribute which is very distinct from the attributes of Human. The scripture says ‘God is not a man that He should lie; nor the son of man that He should repent’ A man can compromise the promise He has for you if some situations or circumstances are against His potentials to bring such promise to fulfillment. The nature of ‘change’ which the Bible termed as ‘repent’ in Numbers 23:19 has been part Human. God is incredibly unique and different from Humans. No Circumstances can change God's promises and standards for you. He says what He will do and will never lie.

Some certain circumstances you may be experiencing could make you think that God has compromised His promises for you. He hasn't! It is you that need not compromise your trust for Him.

The reason some people did not receive the promise God has had with them is because of their compromised trust in the Lord which is their doubt in Him; due to the circumstances they see around themselves.

Dear reader, I believe you are blessed this morning. God will not compromise His standards and promises for you. It is you that need to have a persistent trust in Him.

Prayer: Father I thank you for your word this morning. Lord Jesus give me the grace to be persistent with my trust for you. Let me not compromise my trust for you.

God’s blessings prevail over curses

“For I wot that he whom thou blessed is blessed, and He whom thou cursest is cursed.” Numbers 22: 6b

G

od’s blessings comprise all the good wishes He has for you. This wish can only come to fulfilment when God is moved to bless you. His blessing is an antidote to curse, of which no curses can prevail.

God’s blessing is generational; when you are blessed by Him, it can be transferred to your generation. This proof can be found in Genesis 27:29b;

“cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.”

That blessing was a seed that was transferred from Abraham to His generation.  The camp of Moab tried to wage war against the Israelite, they could not prevail because of God’s blessing was upon them which has been with their father Abraham. Balaam inquired of God of how He can curse the Israelite and overcome them. God spoke to Him, saying;

“thou shall not curse the people: for they are blessed” Numbers 22: 12b

If God blesses you, no man can curse you and what ever curse that has been in you will vanish because of the power in His blessings.

Dear reader, I trust you have been blessed this moring. Pray and crave for His blessings today.

Why was Christ led by the spirit to be temped?

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the Devil. Matthew 4:1

Y

ou will have to undergo some trials of faith in other go grow spiritually. These trials of faith comprise the phases of a spiritual growth in Christ. One crucial factor to grow spiritually is one’s strong faith in the lord of which will make one’s foundation to be firm in Him. This faith comes in when you look up to Jesus as the only one that can make you overcome some certain trials in other to grow spiritually.

Jesus was led by the Holy-Spirit into the wilderness. Though He is the messiah, He however needed to fulfil all righteousness and was tempted of the Devil. This temptation is akin to His examination if He will be worthy to save the world. If he had fallen to the temptations of the Devil, His mission will not be accomplished. All glory to God He overcame the Devil.

You might have wondered why the Spirit of God triggered Him to be tempted of the Devil since it was written in the scripture; “lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil….”  Why was Christ led to be tempted of the Devil? The answer can be found in Hebrews 2:18 which says:

“For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted”

He needed to suffer temptation and overcome it so that He will know how to succour you and I when We are in trials and temptations.

When you are in a problem, never you think Christ is unaware. He is fully aware of your plight. He had also been in your shoes so He knows how to comfort you and teach you how to overcome your problems.

Dear reader, I believe you have been blessed this morning. Focus on Jesus when you are in trials, He was once in a trial and was tempted, He overcame them all. He can as well teach you how to overcome your trials and help to overcome temptations.

Prayer: Lord Jesus thank you for your word this morning, Jesus come and teach me how to overcome every trials and temptations in my life. Give me the grace to be victorious in Jesus name.

Ask for Mercy always!

For he saith to moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

I

t is very important to know how mercy is indispensable to you. No one can soar so high without the mercy of God backing Him or Her. The Bible says in Romans 9: 16 “ so then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that shows mercy”. Your ability to achieving greatness is to an extent, you need the mercy of God to boost your ability to a greater height.

God’s mercy had always prevailed over judgement. His mercy made Him to send His son to die for our sins to save us from the curse of the law and death. The scripture has said that wages of sin is death. However same scripture says whosoever believes in Him, has everlasting life and is passed from death to life. John 5:24

Dear reader, I trust you have been blessed this morning. Ask the lord for mercy always. He is willing to show you mercy.

Prayer: Father have mercy upon me, in all areas of my life let me see mercy.

 Make a covenant with God

And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you. Genesis 9:9

G

od has been keeping covenants with many in time past and even in this present era.  To every promise He makes with Human He usually seal it with a covenant which stands as an agreement between the two parties.

God initially promised to make Abraham a great nation. He had promised Him that He will multiply His seed like the number of the stars. He however needed to seal that promise with a covenant. In Genesis   22:16-18, God had to swear on what He promised to do for Abraham.

Hannah made a covenant with God that if He can open the fruit of her womb by giving her a male child, she will dedicate Him as a prophet that will serve Him all the days of His life. God did grant her request. 1 Samuel 1:11

As this New Year begins, have a covenant with God, ask Him for what you want Him to do and make an agreement with Him.

Dear reader I trust you have been blessed this morning. Make a covenant with Him today!

Prayer:  Father, thank you for your word this morning. Father make a new covenant of grace and mercy with me this New Year in Jesus Christ Name.

Write the Vision down to harness your Destiny

Write the vision;make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. Habakkuk 2:2 ESV

E

veryone on Earth has a purpose to fulfil. Your purpose is the reason why you were born, so as to accomplish what God has instructed you to do. Every one with a purpose has God’s written scripts of how their purpose should be run. These written scripts is our Destiny.

He said this to Jeremiah;

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 NIV

Jeremiah’s purpose was to be used as a prophet of God to nations and not even just one nation. The way He will fulfil His purpose as a prophet is His Destiny. Because there were other prophets during His time but His own pattern as a prophet of God must be unique. That is why you and I don’t have same destiny. You’re unique and your destiny is unique.

There is a step to harnessing destiny, which is writing your vision down. It requires having a focus and a target and how you want it accomplished. The Bible says “write the vision and make it plain on tablets so he may run who reads it” When you write your vision in a book, every time you read through it, you will be motivated to work that vision to practice which in turn will make you harness your destiny here on Earth.

Prayer: Father give me the grace to put my vision to practice and to fulfil my destiny here on earth.
