 Guard your mouth

He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. Proverb 13:3

Bible passage: Genesis 37:5-11

Being careful of the things to say is not just limited to harsh talks, it is however, careful of saying good things God have for you to people who may not be happy for your progress in life.

A Biblical reference for today’s devotion is Joseph and His brothers. God showed Him how He will reign over His brethren and parents, He was careless to have told His brothers His dream. His brothers detested Him even before He told them God’s plan for Him.

No matter how big and great your dreams are be careful how you share it to people. Our part is to pray for the fulfillment of God’s plan and purpose for us, and not to tell people about it.

Let down your net

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. Luke 5:4

We have been through some phases in life that we put efforts to achieving great things which often fails.

We may have let down our nets several times hoping to get the things we need still we get nothing. The Lord is still saying let down your net again. It could be that God-given business idea which didn’t yield any profit, you have to let down your net again since God told you to do so try again. As long as the lord says let down your net, you need to be tenacious in what He tells us to do, don’t doubt.

In Luke 5:4-5, Peter toiled all night to catch fish and gave up after He caught nothing. When He obeyed the Lord’s instruction “Let down your net” He was amply blessed with a great number of fishes.

What matters to you is God’s instruction not your challenges or the things you’ve failed to achieve. Let down your net if He tells you to do so. Don’t doubt.
