Don’t curse the name of God when in sorrow
“ And it was so, that
after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz and
Temanite, My wrath is Kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye
have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant job hath.” Job

t is common among Christians to question and talk to God
in a harsh way when they are passing through tough situations. You should be aware that whatsoever you may
be passing through, it is a test to show how faithful you are to God; and it
could also be a test to build your maturity in Christ Jesus.
Abraham for instance, would not have passed His test of
faith if He had cursed the name God after He instructed Him to sacrifice His
son. Abraham was promised by God that His generations will be many as the stars
in the sky and as the dust on the ground. He never gave it a thought to call
God a liar or call Him God that lack’s integrity.
Our case study of today’s devotional is Job, Job passed
through one of the toughest situation anyone could have thought of; amidst His
tribulations, His friends and wife disserted Him, after He refused to curse the
name of God. Job kept on honouring God, even when He cursed the day He was
born, He never call the name or question Him wrongly.
Dear reader, I believe you have been blessed by God’s
word today. Start everyday by honouring God’s name in every situation you find
yourself.
Devotional prayer: Lord Jesus, help me Honour you in every
situation that I may find myself in Jesus Christ name, amen.
