The Holy-Spirit and the Joy of salvation

 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Psalms 51:12

There’s an exceptional joy in the life of anyone that has received the Holy-spirit. One of His signs is that you have the consistent joy of your salvation, you are enthusiastic for the things about God and His  Kingdom; studying His word, praying, communing with Him, winning of souls, and the likes.

The Holy Spirit stands as evidence that you are a saved soul and also a testimony so that others who are yet to see God’s light are touched by Him because of your testimony.

The Holy Spirit detests sin, and will not continue to stay in the life of anyone involved in iniquity because He is Holy. The moment He leaves you, you will not have the joy of salvation, it will be somewhat of you not saved. When a person is involved in iniquity, He will not have anything to boast of His salvation and His passion for God begins to decrease to a time He never knew God; if He didn’t repent of His sins.

You are to guard the spirit of God in you by fleeing from sin. Everyone that has enjoyed the joy of salvation will not be willing to lose it. The psalmist said this;

Psalms 51:11-12 “Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”

The psalmist knew that when the Spirit of God leaves, the joy of salvation will be missing.

Dear reading, God bless you for reading today’s devotional and I believe you are blessed. Guard the Holy Spirit so that you will keep having the constant joy of your salvation.

Devotional Prayer: Father thank you for your words this morning. Help me Lord not to lose the joy of my salvation in Jesus' name.

 Be precise in your request, Angels are right by you

Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out (by God) to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation? (Of course they are!) Hebrews 1:14 AMP

I

t is written in the scripture that when you ask, it will be given to you, but do you know that when you are not precise enough in your request your answers will be delayed?

In the late hour of the night yesterday after having a meditation, the Holy Spirit told me that for every prayer prayed by a believer, there is a messenger (an angel) assigned to Him who listens to requests, write them down and deliver to God. He made me to understand that if a prayer is prayed and is not precise that is; directionless it could lead to an unanswered or delayed prayer.

Your angel needs to know what exactly you need from God. For instance, a man is praying to God and just saying repeatedly “God provide for me” what exactly do you want God to provide for you?  Is it money, car, house, children etc. such a person is not specific and the angel to receive his request will not return to God with an aimless request.

In one of the Christian daily devotional, that’s about a year ago, I talked on ministering spirits (angels) that some Christians don’t know they have an angel and they don’t put them to work. The Bible says;

Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out (by God) to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation? (Of course they are!) Hebrews 1:14 AMP

Every born again person is an heir to salvation and has angels assigned for Him/Her. The moment you are born again there are angels assigned to serve you. These angels are your spiritual secretary/messenger. They are meant to receive your request and deliver to God; so when praying, let your spiritual instinct be alive; that there are angels listening to your requests. You have to be precise, tell them your problem and how you want God to solve it.

Dear reader I know you have been blessed by God’s word today. For every prayer you pray be precise and your angel will receive your requests. If you are not born again, you have no angels assigned for you! Give all your life to Jesus and you will be an heir of salvation of which angels will be assigned for.

Devotional Prayer: Father I thank you for your word this morning, Holy Spirit teach and give me utterances in my prayers to a precise request in Jesus Christ name amen.

 He Honors His word than His Name

 For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. Psalms 138:2

God doesn't compromise His word and promises. What He has said He will surely do it. There were kings in the Bible who valued their promises; they know the importance of having integrity in their words. An example is King Herod who promised one of the daughters of Herodias that if she danced well, He will grant Her anything she deserves; that is a King word spoken (Matthew 14:1-10). How  much more the word of God. He said that He exalts His word than His Name. In a more precise meaning, He gives honor and more importance to His word than His name.

I have gotten to know that when having a communion or prayer with God, one should always back it up with scripture for every prayer prayed. In doing this you are reminding Him of His word and doing so is a catalyst to you having an answered prayer very fast.

Dear reader, I am glad you are blessed in today’s devotional. One key to answered prayer is to back every prayer prayed with the word of God, He has said that He lifts His word above His Name.

Devotional Prayer: Father thank you for your word today, Holy Spirit help and teach me to back every of my prayer and communion with the word of God.

 Living with divine protection

 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. Job 5:23

You can live peacefully with divine protection without any fear of enemies, plagues, famines, and death.

Every believer is entitled to having divine protection from God because it is part of our inheritance from Him. He said this in the preceding verse in Job 5:24;

And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin

For you and I to experience divine peace among enemies, pestilence, or wars, you must abstain from sin. Abstaining from any form of sin is a way to please God. The Bible says in

Proverbs 16:7;

When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Dear reader, I believe you have been blessed this morning. You will be under God’s covering and be at peace with terrors, enemies, plagues, and the like if only you please God by living a Holy life.

Devotional Prayer: Lord Jesus help me to live a life that pleases you so I may live under your covering.

 Judge not!

“Judge not, that ye be not judged. Matthew 7:1

You may have thought that judging a person by their wrongs is a way to correct them, it isn’t. As a believer, you are not meant to judge an unbeliever or judge a believer that has fallen, instead of judging them you pray for them and correct them.

The Bible says if a person does wrong you restore Him with meekness that is; you correct Him nicely and not in way that seems as tho you’ve judged Him.

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Your judgment on a person can make Him/Her sad to an extent of leading them to depression. Judging people by their wrongs won’t make them repent.

It is not your role to judge anyone irrespective of how terrible they are. Yours is to correct them with meekness just as the Bible instructed you.

Dear reader, I believe you are blessed this morning. Judge not! But correct people with meekness.

Devotional Prayer: Father, help me to correct and restore those that have fallen from grace in Jesus Christ Name amen.

 Have you been observant?

 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:36

Have you been observant of the signs and seasons of the end time. The Bible never gave a precise time when the world will end but it does gave signs that will alert or make us ready for Christ second coming. Even if all the signs haven’t manifested but virtually all the signs have been shown. The scripture made mention of wars, rumors of wars, pestilence (plagues) as part of the signs almost all have manifested in our present generation.

Be observant and let your readiness for Christ second appearance be your goal. The Holy-Spirit is our Helper during this time, have a cordial communion with Him so He can order your steps.

Devotional Prayer: Father help me to live a Holy life and let me not be found missing in your kingdom on the last day.

 He sees everything

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Luke 12:2

God sees everything that happens on Earth. He knows everything and can predict what anyone will do. It is very surprising to hear of people go into their secret place to do things that are not right. Many from fear of being caught by their fellow humans will go to their hidings. They have however forgotten that God who should be feared most is far more dangerous than humans and He sees everything they do.

“The one you must fear is God, for he has both the power to take your life and the authority to cast your soul into hell. Yes, the only one you need to fear is God.” Luke 12:5 TPT

The Bible says in Luke 12:2 that there’s nothing done in secret that will not be revealed.

There are three reasons why you must be conscious of what you do anywhere be it secret or open, and these reasons are because;

• God sees everything you do

• God is dangerous and has the power to take your life if you err.

• there’s nothing done on earth that will not be revealed

That is unwise to go to the secret and do what is not right in the presence of God. God is watching over every affairs of men; so nothing can be hidden from Him. If you think you do secret things that nobody knows anything about  and you find it “coded” and safe, it is a self deception.

Dear reader, I’m sure you are blessed this morning. Work out your own salvation with fear and tremble (Philippians 2:12). Let everything you do in secret and open be in line with God’s word and not contrary.

Devotional Prayer: Father, what I will do that will make you get angry, don’t let me engage in such in Jesus Christ Name, amen.

 Help the poor

“Blessed is He that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver Him in time of trouble.” Psalm 41:1 KJV

S

o many Christians are not spiritually conscious of helping the poor. While some do not know the blessings attached to helping the needy.  To every good or bad that is done to the poor, It reflects to Christ; meaning that to every good or bad done to the poor it is also done to Him.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in” Mathew 25: 35 NIV

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” Matthew 25:40 NIV

The popular story in the Bible, Lazarus and the rich man is a perfect depiction of today’s devotional. The story tells us that the rich man never gave it a thought to help Lazarus, the poor man at His gate. The rich man ended in hell after His death. Had it been that he helped Lazarus He will be saved.

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,  I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ Matthew 25:41-43.

Dear reader, I believe you have been blessed this morning. Help the poor and God’s blessings will be multiplied in your life and He will deliver you in times of trouble just as He has promised in Psalm 41:1.

Devotional Prayer: Lord, give me the grace to help the poor in Jesus Christ name amen.

The gifts, fruit of the spirit and the flesh

“If I speak God’s word with power, revealing all His mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing” I Corinthians 13:2 MSG

T

he Bible quouted that Christ bestowed gifts to many when He ascended up (Ephesians 4:8). Every born again Christian has a gift of the spirit, thou the gifts may differ in function but every gift given to every man is for the spiritual edification of God’s Church.

The moment you surrendered your life to Jesus and got baptised, you will be bestowed a spiritual gift. In most cases the first gift that is being manifested is the gift of speaking in tongues while some might be given the gift of prophecy. Spiritual gifts are good and necessary for every child of God to have however; spiritual gifts do not guarantee believers freedom over the flesh. The word “flesh” in context means the human sinful nature. The human sinful nature comprises of many worldly, wicked and ungodly characters. The Bible made it known that it is possible for a person to have the gifts of the spirit and also have hatred.

“If I speak God’s word with power, revealing all His mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing” I Corinthians 13:2 MSG

Hatred is one of the works of the flesh, (Galatians 5:19-20). For you to live above the flesh and led by the Holy Spirit you must have the fruit of the spirit. When you have the fruits of the spirit, it will be impossible for you to fulfil the desires of the flesh.

“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

You can’t have all the gifts of the spirit; however, you can have one or more of the gifts. As a believer it is possible to have all the fruits of the spirit.

Crave for the fruits of the spirit today so you can have freedom over the works of the flesh.

Devotional prayer: Father, help me not to fulfil the desires of the flesh but let me be led by the Holy-spirit always in Jesus Christ name amen.
