Be separated!

 

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 2 Corinthians 6:17 

 

You have been warned of associating with unbelievers. Your part in an unbeliever’s life is to win His/Her soul and not to live their lifestyle. If you’re living an ungodly life among the ungodly be separated from them. 

Keeping a company among the ungodly will hinder the manifestation of God’s presence in your life. God is light and will never be entangled with darkness. 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 

The Bible in 2 Corinthians chapter 6 went beyond to expound on people yolked with idols. An idol is not only associated with an image made to worship but it can as well be something that has replaced the position of God in your heart. That thing becomes your first priority before God. It could be anything so precious to you, but remember that God is a jealous God and will never want anything whatsoever to replace his love in you. If you have taken anything as your first priority before God, be separated! Make God your first priority and other things can follow. 2 Corinthians 6:16 “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

 

Conclusion:

Be separated from anything or people that will hinder your relationship with God. Be focused on Him alone.
