 Listening to God is wisdom

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. Proverbs 1:33

Listening to God is wisdom and despising His warnings is foolishness. The Bible tells us that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. You fearing the Lord in this context connotes you honoring the Lord and that when He gives instructions you are willing to obey. The Bible termed people who usually turn down the instructions of God to fools who thinks they wise in their ways.

The Holy Spirit often warns you of impeding dangers. In often times when God warns you on steps you’re about to take; His warning may seem difficult to obey but you just have to follow His instructions. Following His warnings will save you from dangers or bad omen that might have been initially assigned to you. To obey His instructions will keep you safe and in peace. Proverbs 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. Whereas the fools who despised the instructions of God will be neglected! Proverb 1:28. I pray in the name of Jesus you will not be neglected and by the grace of God you will fulfill God’s instructions.

Dear reader, am happy you read it all through and I know that the grace to listen to God is been bestowed on you. Harness this grace of God,  listen to Him and never you despise His instructions. God bless you!

Conclusion:

Listening to God is wisdom. Listening to God will keep you safe in dangers and even among your enemies. Obey the lord always and your life will be in peace.

 Let Jesus avenge your battles!

But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. Isaiah 49:25

We have a principal adversary, which is the Devil. However there are strong holds operating under his authority afflicting many today. The Bible alludes them to principalities, powers, evil forces. You can’t see them unless the Lord reveal them to you. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.’ These powers can also be manipulated and controlled by wicked people.

Your ultimate deliverer is Jesus ChristHe is the only one that can set you free from the oppression of darkness. He has the power to make all powers both in Heaven, earth and Hell to be subjected to His authority.

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Dear reader, I know you are blessed today. All powers belong to Jesus. Take your battles to the Lord Jesus today, He will fight and avenge the battles you are facing.

Conclusion:

Never hesitate to take your battles to Jesus, He is the ultimate deliverer, He will avenge and put all your oppressors to His authority.

 Grow in grace and knowledge!

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

Deep knowledge of Christ is required for every Christian to remain vigilant in times of deception, trials, and even at the second coming of Christ. Christ gave  an illustration in Mark 13:22, of how the elects may be vulnerable to be ensnared by false prophets and teachers if they are not deeply rooted in the knowledge of Christ.

You and I have been given a promise  of the appearance of Jesus to redeem  all of His saints to meet Him. 2 Peter 3:12-13. You have a role to play so that Christ will meet you worthy without guilt, sin, or any form of wickedness. To be worthy of this, you have to be full of the knowledge of Christ which will birth you the grace to run the race to the end.  John 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Dear reader I know you have been blessed this morning, grow in the knowledge of Jesus, try and know Him better, study the word and follow His teachings.

Conclusion:

The only way to prepare yourself worthy prior to the second coming of our Lord, is to be full in the knowledge of Christ of which will give you the grace to remain vigilant and watchful.

Guide the light of God in you!

Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. Luke 11:35

Every child of God has been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Light of which is of God through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 5:8A born a new man or woman is now a child of light in the Lord. The Bible alludes children of light to people that reflect the glory of Christ to men. By reflecting the glory of Christ to men, those in darkness would be drawn to the light they see in you if you are a child of light.

It is of utmost importance that you guide the light of God in you so that you will be on the right path with God. The only way to maintain the light of God in you is your strong relationship with the word of God. By your enthusiasm for studying and practicing the word of God, you are on the right path with Him. Psalm 119:105.

The Bible expounded on this that it is necessary you keep the light of God in you else, you will end up in the wrong direction. Luke 11:35.

Our God is our shepherd, He directs us to the right paths. losing His light in you is similar to you walking away from Him which is dangerous.

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed this morning. guide the light of God in you to maintain your path with God. If you are yet to have His light, surrender your soul to Jesus today and you will start experiencing His glory in you. God bless you.

Conclusion:

Guide the light of God in you through your strong fellowship with His word to keep you on the right path with Him.

 You’re the Habitation of God

In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Ephesians 2:22

In time past, before Christ came to earth, God speaks to the people through the prophets. And there was an high priest who offers sacrifices and gifts to God in a temple. Only the high priest have access to enter the temple and offer sacrifices to commune with God and plead for the people for their sins. All glory to God who sent His son to die for you and I, and has raised Him as your only High priest who dwells right within youYour body is now the temple of God, and no worries to find where to commune with Him or to look for a prophet to hear from Him.

Your major role is to make your body, the temple of God pure and acceptable to Him so that you can commune with Him which is your service offered to Him. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. When your body is Holy and acceptable to God, it would not be hard for you to hear from Him and speak to Him.

Dear beloved, I know the Holy Spirit  ministered to you this Morning, are you yet to hear or commune with God. Make your body holy and acceptable to Him, by so doing you have made your body His habitation. Then you can start hearing from Him whenever He speaks.

Conclusion:

Your body is the habitation of God, your role is to make your body pure and holy so that you can commune and render acceptable services to Him.

 Live peaceably with all Men

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.Romans 12:18

As a Christian your role model is Jesus. His life here on earth shows how He lived peacefully with everyone even at the point of His death; He prayed for His enemies that God shouldn't count it as a sin unto them for crucifying Him.

In Act 11:26 the Bible alludes  believers to ‘Christians’ that is Christ like. When the people at Antioch noticed the Christ like nature in the disciples, they were called Christians.

Christ had placed a blueprint for you to follow in way you can relate with people in peace. In Romans 12:13-21 the Bible talks about charity and hospitality but it emphasized more of not paying back evil for evil. Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.’

The scripture tells you to bless your enemy and that in so doing you’re indirectly putting coals of fire on His/Her head. Romans 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.’

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed this morning. Live peacefully with everyone around you, be kind and show Godly love to everyone. Do not pay back evil for evil but rather pay them back with good deeds. God bless you.

Conclusion:

Live peacefully with all men. This is the blueprint Christ has placed for You and I to follow.

 Let His Will Be Done

And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done. Acts 21:14

You have a will or plan to achieve. In often times you to set plans that are convenient for you to achieve. Aside these plans you have in mind, your Heavenly Father also have a will for you to follow. Your will may be align with the Lord’s will and may not. But in several cases God’s will is quite different from ours. Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. These verse tells you that the ways of God is different from yours.

The Lord Jesus Christ at one time was tired of the trials and pain He was passing through,  His will was to forgo these trials and pain, But He considered the Lords will as His only priority. If He hadn’t fulfilled the Lord’s will, You and I would not be saved today.

In Act 21: 10-14. A prophecy was foretold to Paul that the Jews will hand Him to the Gentiles. His brethren tried to persuade him not to go to Jerusalem. He chose to let the will of the lord be done in His life. His priority was to preach the gospel to the Jews and Gentiles.

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed this morning. You may have your own will, but pray to know if your will is the Lord’s will. The lord’s will supersedes any other will  one can think of.

Conclusion:

The lord’s will supersedes every will man can think of. It is the reason why you are sent to this world to fulfill the will and purpose of God. Let His will be done in your life.

Devine Gifts  From Above

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

Good and perfect gifts in this context connote gifts that are beyond natural or supernatural gifts.

There are several examples of people that exhibited the supernatural gifts. An example was Samson; the Bible described Him as one who had supernatural strength and whose strength came from the father of lights, God. Judges 13:1-25. Another case study is King Solomon who had extraordinary wisdom that was beyond every man on earth during His time.

You can covet Devine gifts from God when you ask Him. The Bible alluded gifts from God as perfect and good having no faults or imperfections within.

Conclusion:

Devine gifts from God are perfect and good. These gifts make you to do things that are beyond the natural. Our Heavenly Father want You and I to covet these gifts so that people will glorify Him in our life.

The cost of following Jesus

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62

Some men came to Jesus and requested that they might follow Him, one of them said that He will have to go back to his family first to say goodbye before He can follow Jesus. Christ made Him to understand that no one start a journey with Him and comprise by looking back.

A born a new man or woman who gave His/Her to Jesus has started a journey with the Lord of which the destination is the kingdom of God. However, the journey to the kingdom of God is different from other journeys you can ever think of. In some journeys you may decide to back off and get other things done but the journey to the kingdom of God is different from this. A born a new person is on a journey following Christ. Christ is akin to His/Her shepherd; no sheep will leave the shepherd and go else where. Jesus is the only way to the Father and there’s no other way you can think of that will take you to the kingdom of God, so then endure and follow him to the end. John 14:6. The glory awaiting you can’t be compared with the sacrifice you paid to follow Him. Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed this morning, are you yet to follow Christ. Surrender all to Him and start following Him now. He is your only way to make Heaven. John 14:6.

Conclusion:

The only sacrifice you have to pay to follow Jesus to the end is you not looking back. There’s a glory awaiting you if you follow Him all through and this glory can’t be compared with your challenges in this world.

 Heirs to Abraham’s blessings

Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises. Romans 9:4

God made a promise with Abraham and that He will multiply Abraham’s seed. That promise that was made with Abraham was for His seed,  which is Christ Jesus that came from His generation. All blessings and promises that had been said about Abraham’s seed are all pertaining to the blessings in Christ Jesus. Do you know that anyone who believes and accept Jesus as His Lord is birth into the generation of Abraham and such person is entitled to the promises of the spirit; that had been said to Abraham’s seed. All believers in Christ are Abraham’s seed and are heirs to Abraham blessings.

Conclusion:

All believers are heirs to the promises made with Abraham. It is high time you gave your life to Jesus if you have not done that so that you will enjoy the grace and blessings attached to the promises made with Abraham.

 Be slow to getting angry!

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. Ecclesiastes 7:9

Anger is a natural feeling every human have. It is easy for anger to influence ones mind to cause disasters, dangers, evil actions etc. if not tamed or control. King Solomon in the Bible, alludes anger to an act that is very outrageous. Proverbs 27:4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy? It is very expedient that you should be conscious of your emotions or feelings when you are about to get angry by an issue. It is inevitable that you will get angry someday; however, the Bible had warned you to control your anger such that it won’t make you to sin against God just as Moses anger made him to miss the promise land. Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Dear reader I know you have been blessed, Take control of your emotions, don’t get angry to sin against God.

Conclusion:

The consequences of anger are very outrageous and devastating, take full control of your emotion and be slow to getting angry.

Do you know the God you serve?

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with handsActs 17:24

When Apostle Paul met with the people of Athens, He had observed the way they worship God and discovered that they are very religious.  However, being religious but they do not know the God they serve. They had this inscription in their altar of worship; “to an unknown God”.

It is of utmost knowledge to know the God you serve. It is customary for some Christians to only fellowship with God in Church services alone but never had a thought within themselves to dig deep to know who God is, how he works, his will for all Christians and the reasons Christ came to redeem the world. people who go to church services and don’t have in depth knowledge of Christ are known as religious people and not Christians. you must be walking with God to be called a Christian. The word of God is a light to your path by which you can walk with God and understand him. Psalms 119:105  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.’

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed today by the word, don’t be a stranger to God, take steps to understand Him through Christ Jesus and His word. And if you have not surrendered your life to christ, give Him all your heart now. He is willing to accepting you as a child of God and not a stranger.

Conclusion:

know God today. Don’t be a stranger to Him, but dig deep to know who He is by your daily meditation on His word, by so doing you are walking with God.

 Be a cheerful giver

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

Giving is an act of love and it shows that you are fulfilling the principles of God about love. In Matthew 25: 35-46. Christ gave illustrations of those who showed love to the poor and those who never did; and those who showed love to the poor by giving are entitled to enter the kingdom of God whereas those who don’t are in danger of Hell.

In a letter to the Corinthians paul admonished the church to give in a cheerful manner 2 Corinthians 9:7. Because some gave not dwelling in love but gave been troubled or forced to give, such are not cheerful givers. But a cheerful giver is one who give in joy despite being aware that He/She is loosing , looking unto God for eternal reward. In addition the measure to which you give will determine how God will bless you. 2 Corinthians 9:6 says ’But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Dear reader I hope you have been blessed this morning, start the habit of giving and see how the lord will bless you.

Conclusion:

Giving is an act of love. It reveals to people that God dwells in you, because God is love himself. Your giving can win the souls of sinners to Christ. It is about time you started giving.

Put the word to practice !

For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: James 1:23

The Purpose of the the word of God,  is for you to receive and put it to action by being a doer of the word. Following the instructions of God shows that you are a true follower of Christ. Christ had described his followers as His sheep who listen and follow his path. James 1:23 explained perfectly how people that only hear but not a doer of the word of God, the Bible alluded them to people who behold their faces in a mirror and when they left, immediately forget how they look.

When you read the word of God and  you seldom put the things you read to practice you will not understand the message God is passing to you.

Dear reader I hope you have been blessed this morning, put the word you hear or read to practice,  don’t be a hearer and not a doer of the word. God bless you.

Conclusion:

Putting the word of God to action is what makes the fulfillment of the word. Endeavor to be a doer of the word.

By faith and not by perceptions

For we walk by faith, not by sight:

Corinthians 5:7

Faith is associated to being led by the Spirit of God and it is pertaining to walking with God.  Whereas our perception about things is associated with our physical sense to predict what could happen.  However, the human perception is limited to foreseeing promises of the spirit. But it is only through faith you can foresee the promise of the spirit. Galatians 3:14b ‘that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.’ If you were told by God of a promise,  It is through faith you can receive the promise and not by your perception, sight or feelings. Sarah was told that she will have a child at her old age, she perceived by her knowledge that it is impossible. It can only be impossible if you try to foresee the promise of the spirit through your perception. By faith you will see the promise of the spirit and even beyond. The scripture says that faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen. This shows that your faith is a guarantee of the promise of God, yet not seen.

Dear reader I know you have been blessed today! walk with God by your faith so that you will receive his promises and not by your perceptions; sight, emotions or feelings. God bless you.

Conclusion:

The evidence to receiving the promises of the father, God through Christ Jesus is through your faith and not by your perceptions.

 Don’t give room for anxiety!

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1

Anxiety arises due to doubt and fear. when you are amidst some difficult challenges and you don’t trust God well to set you free, you may end up as a prey for fear and this will keep tormenting your soul. The Bible says  fear brings torment. 1John 4:18. The word torment is also known as trouble, Christ had warned you to never give room for a troubled heart; that you should trust in him always. John 14:1 ’Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. The Bible had also urged every christians to cast their worries to him  1 Peter 5:7 ’Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you’. This verse shows that Christ cares for you and He understand your pains and worries.

Your role is to ask for his help when you are passing through some hard times, and not to fight these problems on your own. God bless you.

Conclusion:

Never you give any chance for anxiety, take all your worries to Jesus today and He will bear your burdens.

 Be skillful in your work!!!

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. Proverbs 22:29

To be diligent or skillful in this context is alluded to being seasoned and consistent in ones work or business. And the Bible says that anyone who persevere with this will be honored among high officials,  rulers of this world,  kings  etc. and such a one will not be among mean, ordinary people of low ranks.

The Bible urges everyone to be committed and skillful to their work irrespective of any field or profession. Investing yourself in a big way will birth you greatness in the future. The extent at which you want to go far and to be honored depends on what you are investing in yourself today. A case study of a person who was diligent and skillful to what He does was Daniel in the Bible. The Bible made us to know that during the days of king Nebuchadnezzar,  Daniel was the wisest man among the kings astrologers, wise men, magicians etc. Daniel 4:6-9

Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

7 Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

8 But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,

Among the wise men during the time of King Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel was the only man that could interpret the king’s dream and was the most honored of all wise men.

what was his secrets? The Scripture expounded on this that Daniel was diligent to reading books and that he understood things by books.

Daniel 9:2In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books...

Dear reader, I know you have been blessed this morning, invest that time and work in your skill or profession and see how Christ will honor you among great men and not  ordinary people.

Conclusion:

Be skillful in your business or profession and you will be honored among great men and you will not be found among ordinary people of low ranks.

what God has made pure can’t be condemned!

And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. Acts 10:15

Acts 10:11-15

And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Apostle Peter had always preached the gospel to the jew than he does to the non jewish people, Gentiles. He had taken the Gentiles as unclean or common men. On a faithful day the Lord showed Him a vision of creatures, animals descending from Heaven,  of which Peter taught are unclean to eat, but the Lord told him to eat it them. The revelation was interpreted to him, that He should not call any man common or unclean.

This is one of the reason why the gospel have not been circulated. Some christians tend to be selective to preach the gospel to certain set of people. However there is no discrimination to people that are meant to hear the gospel. No man can be called common or impure to receive the good news of Christ.

Conclusion:

If you have been selective to people who should hear the gospel from you, it is about time you changed your mindset and preach the gospel to everyone irrespective of their religion, gender, race etc. God bless you.

That faith in times of uncertainty

And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs. Mark 7:28

You may have been amidst serious  situations that when you pray and it seems your prayers are not answered or maybe God is not listening. Nevertheless it necessary to keep pressing on with the faith you have in God.

A case study of one who had faith even in a situation that seems God wouldn’t render help was the Syrophenician woman, a Greek who  brought her daughter to Jesus for healing. Christ was reluctant to heal her daughter,  still this woman persevere with her faith in this uncertainty. Mark 7:26-29 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs. And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

Dear reader, I hope you’re blessed this morning, hold on to the faith you have in God even when it seems God wouldn’t do anything, keep trusting Him and He will never put you to shame.

Conclusion:

Even if situations are uncertain to be solved,  don’t think that is the end,  because God has not said so. Hold on to him and He will never put you to shame.

The communion, grace and love of God

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14

There are three great virtues which keep Christians steadfast in their race to the kingdom of God.  And these virtues are; the grace of our Lord Jesus, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit. 2 Cor 13:14. It is the popular culture of christians to quote this verse after prayers. It is important to know the purpose of this verse. Paul prayed for the church to have these three things of which will make them steady in their faith. These three great virtues are pertaining to the role of the trinity; God, Jesus and the Holy spirit.

•The grace of our lord Jesus, God the son: It is through the grace of Christ you are forgiven of all your sins and through this grace you have no past. Ephesians 1:7. Also through this grace you have the power to live above sins and works of the flesh. Romans 6:14. through grace your faith is made stronger.

•The love of God, God the father: One of the hallmark of God is love. The Bible referred to him as love. when you love him and follow his instructions and also show love to your neighbors and then He will be with you always.

•Communion of the Holy spirit,  God the Holy spirit: The fellowship of the Holy spirit is what you as a christian cant do without if you want to overcome every trials in this evil world. The Bible says He strengthens our infirmities when we are weak , He teaches you what to say and He also intercedes for you while you are praying Romans 8:26

The three great virtues which keep a christian in the race are linked to the roles of the father, son and the Holy spirit. As a christian you should pray always for the grace of Jesus, the love of God and the communion of the Holy spirit to keep you till the end.

conclusion:

The grace of Jesus, love of God and communion of the Holy spirit are what will make you consistent snd strong in your race towards the kingdom of God.
