Worse than the first case!
Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. Matthew 12:45
Bible passage: John 5:3-14;
3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.
5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”
9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
And that day was the Sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”
11 He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ”
12 Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?”
13 But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place.
14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
Infirmities, problems, curses are caused by evil spirits manifesting in the lives of people. It takes the power of God through His son Jesus Christ to subdue these powers and cast them out from the lives of the victims they have oppressed.
God’s role through His son is to give you deliverance but not to decide for you to walk in the path of salvation. From the Bible passage we read this morning, Jesus healed the man with a 38-year old infirmity but warned him not to go back to sin, else He would have a worse experience than the first. This infirmity is manifested by demons. Jesus made us to understand that when one is delivered from demons and refuse to let God rule over oneself, such life is open and permissive for more terrible demons to possess.
Mathew 12:43-45;
43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.
44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order.
45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
Dear beloved deliverance alone is not enough for a turnaround from your problems. Walking in the path of salvation is what guarantees your deliverance and makes it permanent.
To walk in salvation is to believe in Jesus and follow His words.
