Redemption and atonement by the blood Jesus

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his graceEphesians 1:7

To redeem alludes to restoration. In today’s devotional,  we will expound on the purpose of redemption and why humans need redemption by the blood of Jesus. Whereas atonement implies a sacrifice paid to free someone from their sins or debt.

Before the New Testament of our Lord Jesus Christ. Man offers animals for atonement but not redemption. The atonement is temporal and not permanent. It can only be offered to plead for the sins of people but can not guarantee their redemption. This made God send us a mediator that will reconcile humans and redeem them back to Him.

Through the blood of Jesus, it is possible to redeem and atone for the sins of the world if they are willing to accept and believe in Jesus. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  By the blood of Jesus, there is an assurance that you will not die but live. Even when the consequences of your sin is death, if you can forsake it and confess it to Jesus, you will be saved from death.

Dear beloved, I know you are blessed today. Forsake all sins and give room for Jesus to atone for your sins and redeem you.

Conclusion:

If the consequences of the sins you did are death or suffering. Forsake them and confess it to Jesus, He is a God of second chance and He is ready to redeem you from death and any suffering. That is why He was sacrificed for you and me.
