The Gene of God
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” 1 John 3:9
One hallmark of God is Holiness, as it had been credited to Christ of these virtues; holiness, righteousness and purity. A believer been adopted through the blood of Jesus to be called the son of God has to show the attributes of his father which are holiness and righteousness. The character of holiness is the gene of God. When we say we are of God we should exhibit the hallmarks of him by being righteous if truly we have the gene of God (holiness) in us. This gene of God (holiness) was referred to the seed of God in 1 John 3:9 “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” Holiness is a virtue we must have if we claimed to be born of God. We make this virtue of righteousness to be manifested in our lives by making the Holy Spirit to direct all our affairs in life by so doing the spirit lead, guide and reveal to us things to come and to watch out for, so as not to fall into temptations and be ensnared by the Devil. Let us pray always for the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit; by so doing we are exhibiting the virtues of our father which are Righteousness and Holiness Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
Conclusion:
A trait of a father seen in a child makes it clear that he is the father of that child. Let the trait of righteousness which is of God our father be in you so that the Spirit can bear witness that you are the child of God.Romans 8:16
