Charity
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.1Corinthians 13:13
When Jesus was addressing His disciples of what they ought to do telling them of when He was hungry , thirsty, naked, in prison and sick, that none of them ever tried to assist Him. They were surprised because they never noticed him hungry or thirsty Matthew 25:35-46 . But Christ figured Himself as people suffering out there needing food, Shelter or some medical assistance. Our righteousness is not complete if we don’t have Charity in us. in 1 Corinthians 13:2 “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.” This verse tells us more how charity is invaluable. The part of charity in ones life is the trait of love in one. Anyone that love dwells in in Him God also dwells in. 1John4:16.
Having the virtue of charity is fulfilling the greatest commandments of our lord Jesus Mark 12:31 “And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” Christ never referred to the neighbors as the people close to us alone but people around us be it close or from a distance or strangers needing help.
Conclusion:
Without charity in our lives our righteousness is not perfect. When we fulfill charity in the lives of people we are fulfilling the greatest commandments by loving our neighbors as ourselves.
