Labour for what is eternal

 

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. John 6:27 

 

Read JOHN 6:24-27

 

The reason why many seek God is not for  their spiritual advantage or growth rather it is for things they need which are earthly desires. The Bible made us to understand that earthly things and it’s glory will pass but one thing for sure will stand which is the word.

 

Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

 

Only the word of God is everlasting and can never perish. Our utmost desire is to eat the raw word of God and follow His teachings, then we can grow spiritually. 

 

1 Peter 2:2 “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”

 

To eat the word of God in context here is to earnestly study the word. Christ is the word and the bread of life and whosoever eat this bread will have eternal life.

 

John 6:51 “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

 

Dear beloved what will stand from now till eternity is the word. Feed yourself with the word of God.
